Yes, there has not been a blog post in awhile. We had to say farewell to our dear friend, John Richardson. He was a lover of nature. He loved plants and planting. Frogs, fish and wildlife and the ocean. If there is anything to learn from the death of someone that you loved, I think it may be to take the time to slow things down a bit and enjoy what nature presents to you. Enjoy the night air and listen to the crickets. Spend more time with those that you love as that time can sometimes be cut short sooner than you think.
I believe that John would have liked his funeral and those that knew him brought living plants rather than cut flowers. His wife brought them home calling them fondly "their jungle". Although it is hard to make decisions about death, it is better to make them when you are alive to save those that care about you much time and frustration. Making a simple will, a healthcare plan and decisions about your death can truly set your mind at ease. Also, you can request that in lieu of flowers that donations may me made in your name for your charity of choice (i.e. pet rescue, CASA or a wildlife conservation group).
John may you ride the waves and see the shores that you were unable to in thus life.
