Spring Cleaning
Now that it is time for some spring cleaning besides using eco-friendly cleaners, we can also find more eco-friendly ways of reducing your clutter. If you have household items, kindly used clothing or furniture that you no longer would like to keep consider giving those items to charity (such as The Junior League of Savannah or Goodwill). You can reduce your clutter, save more items from going in the landfill and get a tax write-off. Also, check our Greenfest 09, they are having a Goodwill dropoff at the event.
Any women's professional clothing or accessories, AWWIN takes those and helps local women find new vocations and lends a helping hand.
Do you have any old tennis shoes? Believe or not, they can be recycled through Nike Reuse A Shoe. The old shoes are turned into a substance that is molded for children's playground. Very inventive!
Have old glasses? Contact the Lions Club of your area for recycling information.
Old towels, sheets and blankets are very welcome donations are local animal shelters.
Have you upgraded your cell phone? You can take your old cell phone to companies such as Staples for recycling.
